ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Heather Fairbairn is a regionally-based theatre and opera director. She has directed for Bell Shakespeare, Queensland Theatre, La Boite, Victorian Opera, Opera Australia and collaborated internationally with the Royal Opera House, Royal Court Theatre, and Schaubühne Berlin. Her practice spans classical texts, new writing, music, live-cinema and interdisciplinary performance.

Kate Wild is the writer and director of The Sound of a Finished Kiss, which won Best Independent Production and Best Musical at the 2018 Matilda Awards. In 2021 she directed Rising for Playlab Theatre and Conviction as part of The Hive Collective’s season at Metro Arts. In 2023 she wrote and directed Common Ground with Second Year Acting students at the Queensland Conservatorium, and in 2024 directed The Importance of Being Earnest for Queensland Theatre’s Year 12 Ensemble.
